About

Well I usually don't know what to say in these things so I guess I’ll start off with how I got to where I am now.

I started working with computers in late 1994 and started fooling with web design in early 1995. Growing up I was always in to art and exceptionally good with math so the web was a great fit for me. Back then it was all fun just fooling with code seeing what I could do with it, the web was young and it was nothing like how it is today. From 1995-2000 I kept doing web design as a hobby and on the side building and fixing computers.

Right before I graduated high school in 2000 I got a job working at Ecommerce-Corporation as a web designer & developer. Working there I did around 30 sites in the 9 months of working for them. While working at Ecommerce-Corporation I learned a lot about what to do and what not to do in the industry. Times were hard with the stock market crashing due to tech stocks so unfortunately Ecommerce-Corporation went under and I had to move on. I tried to continue to be a web developer/design during this time but unfortunately without a degree you were pretty much out of luck. So I fell back on doing PC repair & tech support and received A+ Certification. After a little while in the field I realized that this wasn’t what I wanted to do in life and understood to continue to do web work I would need to get a degree in it. That brought me down to Full Sail University for a Digital Media Degree in 2002-2003.

After I received my degree I decided to take on freelance full time. There were a lot of bumps in the road when I was working for myself right out of college but it really gave me great insight in to how to properly run a business and be successful. After a little over a year of riding the waves of freelance I decided to get back in the mix of a 9-5 job.

This led me to Candace Crowe Design being an Interactive Multimedia Developer (2004-2006). Working there really reminded me of my days early on in the industry. I ended up learning a lot working there from print, to touch screen development, to all sorts of things dealing with interactive marketing. It was a great learning experience. After about a year and a half of working there I felt it was time to move on.

My next step was getting hired on site to work at General Dynamics C4 Systems through nFocus Software (2006-2008). Being a Sr. Course Developer for nFocus for almost the past 2 years working on interactive multimedia instruction was a great time. I really enjoyed working there and picked up a decent amount of leadership and management skill sets while continuing to evolve my design and development skills.

After working at General Dynamics I took a job working for Tempus Resorts International. When I first started working here I was hired on contractually to setup a portal site for their customers to book vacations, pay bills owed and manage their accounts online. After the website was completed I was offered a position to maintain and grow the site as well as others. Working here I was the main web designer and developer working with a lot of database programmers. Over the time spent working at Tempus I created several processes for design & development as well as taught the Oracle programmers how to utilize what they knew and integrate it in to the web.

This brings us to the present day. I am currently seeking employment for my next step in my career. I’ve done both sides of the road now, the public design side of things working with corporations, advertisement agencies, small design houses and freelance as well as the other side with large corporate government contractors. My next step I would like to be something that I truly enjoy that challenges me to get to the next level of my career.
